Interpretation 口译
BE-ON Communications provides interpretation services for conferences (consecutive and simultaneous), community (e.g. health care, police, counseling, etc.), as well as remote interpretation (over ZOOM, KUDO or other platforms).
Simultaneous Interpretation
同声传译
The speaker is on the stage, speaking into a microphone, which feeds the audio into the headset of the interpreter, who is sitting in a soundproof enclosure known as Booth. The interpreter listens to the speaker's words while rendering them into the target language simultaneously. The conference attendees tune in to the interpretation through wireless headsets. The speaker speaks continuously without waiting for the interpreter. Since this mode of interpretation puts intense pressure on the interpreter, usually two interpreters are needed to take shifts of about 15-20 minutes each.
Consecutive Interpretation
交互传译
The speaker and the interpreter are on the same side. Neither of them use headsets. The speaker speaks a few sentences or makes a point, then waits for the interpreter to render it into the target language. Then the speakers continues. This mode of interpretation is very often used in business or government meetings and negotiations. It is also used in scenarios where audio equipment is unavailable. The advantage of consecutive interpretation is that it can handle question and answer sessions very easily, instead of requiring the speaker and listeners to switch channels on their audio equipment
Remote Interpretation
远程传译
The time of the pandemic sees Remote Interpretation make major headway into the language services industry. ZOOM, KUDO and others are quickly becoming leaders in this sector and setting robust standards to allow global communication to continue with considerable virtual capacity. Professional interpreters like us are quickly equipping themselves with high speed physical internet connection, with professional level audio/video gears. Fang and a number of his colleagues are certified KUDO Pro interpreters.
Community Interpretation
社区口译
This is the type of service provided to individuals in the community who face language barriers that hinder their full access to social services and supports. More often than not, these individuals - patients, new immigrants, persons running in with the law, etc., and the institutions providing them services - have unparalleled dependence on the interpreters. As we provide services, we must remain neutral, yet compassionate, upholding the highest professional standards.
